Introduction I am married, a Virginia homemaker and mother of three adult children. I live in Bedford County. I am not a scientist so I can't speak as a scientist. But I can read, research and pray, and that is what you will have to do if you are mercury poisoned. You are on your own until you can find knowledgeable medical help. I graduated from Staunton River High School in 1968, and graduated from Radford College (now a University) in 1974 with a BS in Special Education for the Retarded Child. I taught elementary school at Body Camp Elementary School in Bedford County from 1974 to 1978. Then after a short stint with the US Postal Service, I stayed home with my children. I was a prison volunteer/minister with my husband starting in 1988. I organized a non profit ministry to prisoners and ministered at Staunton Correctional Center from 1990 until it closed in 2002. I volunteered at Bland Correctional Center from 1988 through 2007, teaching Bible studies and leading in the worship service. I volunteered for several years at the Roanoke City Jail teaching Bible studies until I was mercury poisoned in 2001. I became too tired and ill to continue on a weekly basis. Don't let a dentist tell you amalgam is not mercury or that mercury is bound in amalgam and doesn't come out. Please order a complete information packet from the non profit organization DAMS, Dental Amalgam Mercury Solutions (formerly called Dental Amalgam Mercury Syndrome), at 1-651-644-4572. The information packet will contain a Materials Safety Data Sheet of the amalgam fillings that SHOWS what is in it. The packet will provide names of safe BIOLOGICAL dentists, information on how to find a safe dentist and what protocols he should be using to safely remove mercury fillings. Moms, beware, most dentists in Roanoke are still placing mercury amalgam silver fillings in your children's teeth. These dentists need to be boycotted.
